tiger go Flag carrier boosts Clark-Busuanga flights

By March 1, Philippine Airlines (PAL) will increase the frequency of its flights between Clark and Busuanga, the gateway to popular tourist destination Coron, Palawan.

The flag carrier, in a statement on Thursday, said that it would boost its Clark-Busuanga flights from four weekly services to daily “in response to the growing demand for leisure travel to northern Palawan.”

PAL is deploying an 86-seater De Havilland Dash 8-400 Next Generation aircraft for this route.

“Our upgrade to daily Clark-Busuanga flights will help make fares more affordable and travel more convenient for both foreign and domestic tourists, in time for the summer travel season,” PAL Express president Rabbi Vincent Ang said.

In total, PAL will offer a total of 42 weekly flights to Busuanga following the increased frequency. It also operates flights to the Coron gateway from Manila and Cebu.

Apart from Busuanga, the Lucio Tan-led carrier also links Clark to Cebu, Siargao, Batanes and Seoul.

Earlier this month, PAL introduced a new route connecting Cebu to Catarman, the capital of northern Samar, which will start by March 1.

The airline said travelers from Catarman could also be linked to Caticlan, Clark, Coron, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa and Siargao via Cebu given the new route.

The flag carrier will also increase its Cebu-Siargao flights to a total of 18 weekly flights on March 1, providing passengers more options to fly to the surfing capital of the Philippines.

Data released by the BSP on Tuesday showed the public sector’s foreign borrowings from July to September this year went up by 36 percent from the $2.81 billion in the same period last year.

This week, PAL flew its inaugural Manila-Cauayan flight to link passengers to Isabela province.

Last month, PAL reopened its Cebu-Osaka direct flights amid the growing travel demand to Japan. It also facilitates routes from Cebu to Narita and from Manila to Nagoya, Narita, Haneda and Fukuoka.
